The Constant Now invited transdisciplinary artist Isaiah Lopaz, founder of Black Visual Grammar, to lead the INTERWOVEN collage workshop, co-produced with S.M.A.K. Lopaz, whose work has been presented at Theater Rotterdam, Schauspiel Dortmund, and DAAD Galerie Berlin, guided fifteen participants in exploring textiles—particularly denim, long associated with labor, resistance, and cultural identity—as carriers of memory and embodied history.
Participants worked with an archive of nearly 1,000 images to create intimate “visual solos” that evolved into collective compositions. Exclusively for BIPOC participants, the workshop fostered reflection, discovery, peer exchange, and shared belonging.
The gathering was enriched by meals prepared by artist Kadia Doumbouya, adding care and connection.

The Constant Now inviteerde transdisciplinaire kunstenaar Isaiah Lopaz, oprichter van Black Visual Grammar, om de workshop INTERWOVEN te leiden, in coproductie met S.M.A.K. Lopaz, wiens werk eerder werd gepresenteerd in Theater Rotterdam, Schauspiel Dortmund en DAAD Galerie Berlin, begeleidde vijftien deelnemers in het onderzoeken van textiel, met name denim, lang geassocieerd met arbeid, verzet en culturele identiteit, als drager van geheugen en belichaamde geschiedenis.
De deelnemers werkten met een archief van bijna 1.000 beelden om intieme “visual solos” te creëren, die later evolueerden naar collectieve composities. Exclusief voor BIPOC-deelnemers bood de workshop ruimte voor reflectie, ontdekking, uitwisseling en gedeeld saamhorigheidsgevoel.
De bijeenkomst werd verrijkt met maaltijden bereid door kunstenaar Kadia Doumbouya, wat extra zorg en verbinding bracht.
